From one to many Athens: towards the rediscovery of human consciousness

One Athens or more? Athens of Perikles’, Athens of Demetrios of Phaleron, Athens of Chalkokondyles, Athens of Byron? Not only in terms of History, but also in terms of Urban Geography, which Athens am I talking about? Athens, the capital of modern Greece, Athens of Ohio, or Athens as a symbolic name of world heritage, as for example: “Edinburgh – Athens of the North”?
Athens means many things in our days, and this meaning include physically existing cities, ancient and modern values, and networks of ideas interacting with each other on a global scale synthesis of exchanging, rotating, and transacting Ideas. It is these “other” meanings for the word Athens, a word assuming now the character of a term that they are to be analyzed in this presentation.
