The event “Greek Language: Past – Present – Future” was successfully held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in the packed hall of the Cultural Center of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Kostis Palamas Building). The event served as an important platform for dialogue on the Greek language and its evolution through the centuries.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished speakers, Professor Maria-Zoi Foundopoulou, Professor of Methodology and Teaching of Ancient Greek at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Professor PolyviaParara, from the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Maryland, USA, for their invaluable contributions.
The event was inaugurated with a speech by Professor George Kontogeorgis, while the discussion was moderated by Mr. Nikos Dimitropoulos, Deputy Governor of AHEPA Greece Region.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Manolis Velegakis, President of the Athens City Council, Mr. Christos Karapiperis, Governor of AHEPA Greece Region, and Mr. George Psathas, President of ATHENS Calls ATHENS.
The contributions of all participants were instrumental in the event’s success, fostering meaningful dialogue on the past, present, and future of the Greek language and reinforcing the importance of its preservation and promotion on a global scale.
