Human Metamorphosis and Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. In simple words, AI is computer software that mimics aspects of human intelligence! Online e-banking, self-driving buses and Google maps are typical examples of AI.

AI is currently part of our everyday life with a plethora of pros and cons. Design of new pharmaceuticals, remote patient monitoring and treatment (e-diagnostics), biosensors (e.g. glucose biosensor) are some very important advantages. Nevertheless, human isolation, reduction of social life and many others are disadvantages of AI.

During the lecture, the basic operation principles of AI will be presented briefly together with a discussion for the positive and negative effects to human everyday life.
