Professor Dr Georgia Melagraki

Dr. Georgia Melagraki has received Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and M.Eng, M.Sc and PhD in Materials Science & Technology, Computational Mechanics and Chemical Engineering respectively from the School of Chemical Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Later she has pursued management studies towards an MBA from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (NTUA). During her studies she has received several scholarships and distinctions.
Dr Melagraki has a strong scientific background in the field of chemoinformatics, nanoinformatics, computational chemistry, organic chemistry and materials science and simulations for dual applications. Her research is also focused in drug discovery, material design and properties prediction and she has developed several computational tools to support decisions under uncertainty using virtual screening and informatics methods that significantly reduce costs and timescales. Her research has received funding from several competitive EU and national grants and her scientific work has been published in more than 100 original research articles and Editorials in international peer reviewed journals (she is corresponding author in >30) and in more than 100 articles in international and national conferences. She is a reviewer in leading scientific journals and invited member of Editorial Boards in top scientific international journals. According to Google Scholar (May 2024) her h-index is 39 and her work has been cited more than 4000 times.
Dr. Georgia Melagraki is an Associate Professor in Chemistry in the Hellenic Military Academy. Since 2008, she was teaching chemistry related subjects as an Adjunct Professor (Lecturer level) in the Hellenic Naval Academy and then in the Hellenic Military Academy. She also teaches chemistry, cheminformatics and data science and AI related subjects in MSc and e-learning programs.
