Innovative Method of Control of Hygiene Conditions and Suitability of Interior Ventilation of Closed Workplaces
An innovative method of measuring indoor air quality was introduced in the Laboratory of Occupational Health and Safety of the University of West Attica during the Covid-19 pandemic. This process is based on the recording of indoor air quality features to highlight the degree of simulation with the outside. Carbon dioxide, relative humidity, temperature, oxygen and oxides of carbon and nitrogen are cataloged in real-time conditions of human activity (during working hours).
The closer the prices to the outside world are, the lower the probability of airborne transmission of the new coronavirus is. After the measurements, a report is made with proposed corrective interventions. The method was initially applied by the Eindhoven University of Technology and perfected by the University of Colorado.
This method aims to be a helpful tool for the complete reopening of closed workplaces after the lock-down, to avoid airborne diseases that may occupy the human community in the future. The method is applied to Greece in more than 250 workplaces.
