About the Conference
The conference serves as an international hub for dialogue at the crossroads of technology, ethics, and human development. It is not purely a technological conference nor solely a philosophical forum, but rather an interdisciplinary platform for strategic reflection.
The aim of the Conference is to examine whether:
• technology embodies or may embody values and ideologies.
• human dignity constitutes a non-negotiable foundation for all innovation.
• Artificial intelligence ought to serve humanity rather than replace it.
• Social resilience requires the ethical governance of innovation.
• Spiritual and moral development must precede technological power.
and, through these, to promote:
• the responsible development of intelligent systems.
• equitable access to the benefits of technology.
• the protection of fundamental rights.
• International cooperation in the governance of AI.
As the birthplace of philosophy and democracy, Athens is the ideal setting for international dialogue on the ethics of artificial intelligence, the democratic governance of technology, and the coexistence of tradition and innovation.
The choice of Athens symbolises the continuity between ancient thought and contemporary science, the need to rearticulate fundamental values in the digital age, and Greece’s geopolitical role as a bridge between cultures.
The Conference will be held in a hybrid format, enabling both onsite and virtual participation.
The venue of the Conference is the Amphitheatre of Harokopio University of Athens, located at 70 El. Venizelou Street, 17676 Kallithea, Athens.
