Prof. Nikolaos K. Papadakis

Assoc. Prof. Nikolaos K. Papadakis (male), holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and a PhD degree from the same Institution. He is the Director of Research and Head of the “Machines, Intelligent & Distributed Systems” Laboratory of the Hellenic Army Academy.
He has more than 20 years of experience as a professional IT Engineer (6 years of CTO experience, 5 years of CEO and co-founder of an IT startup). He has served as CTO, Project Manager, Technical Manager, Solutions Architect and Software Engineer in various companies and for large scale and enterprise projects.
He has collaborated with multinational R&D teams and has participated as Technical Manager in four EC-funded projects and in research teams in over 30 EU and national funded projects. He worked as research associate at the Telecommunications Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens and is co-author of several scientific papers.
He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and a member of the Hellenic Council for Defence, Research, Technology and the Industry. His research interests are focused on security systems, Robotics and Defence systems, AI, machine learning and machine intelligence in distributed environments.
