Dr. Angelos Amditis

Dr. Angelos Amditis holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens  and an MBA from the University of Piraeus and the NTUA (Techno-economic Systems ).

In January 2002, he founded the I-SENSE Research Group at ICCS being active in the scientific and research fields of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Telecommunications, Al and Automation, Crisis and Disaster Management, Smart Integrated Systems such as Sensors, Communications and Vehicle Platforms, with applications on Smart Cities, Environment Industry 4.0.

He is the Vice President and one of the founding members of the Hellenic Association for the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS Hellas), and of the EuroVR Association. He is Research Director at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of NTUA and member of the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of ALICE TP.

He represents the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) in ERTICO – ITS Europe, where he is the elected Chairman of the Board of Directors (Supervisory Board of ERTICO). He is the National Representative of Greece at EU on Co-operative Connected and Automated Transport and Mobility (C-ITS and CCAM).

He is the Deputy Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Urban Transport Organisation (OASA) responsible for all public transport in the general area of Athens and member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company (EYDAP S.A.). Since May 2019 he is the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Hellenic Port Community System (HPCS) of the Piraeus Container Terminal S.A. (PCT).

He has been the Scientific Responsible for more than 150 European and National research projects. Currently he is the coordinator of the following European projects: Cyber-MAR, HYPERION, COREALIS, ICT4CART, RESIST, ELVITEN, IN-PREP, SAFERtec  and PLUGGY. He is the author of many publications in scientific journals, book chapters and over 220 conference articles.
