Climate change is not a phenomenon that our planet is experiencing for the first time, as the climate has been undergoing major changes for many millennia. However, for the first time since the Industrial Revolution (19th century) and the large-scale emission of pollutants into the atmosphere, climate change accompanied by global warming is clearly of anthropogenic origin.

The consequences of climate change, apart from the dramatic changes the planet is experiencing to the detriment of people’s quality of life, extend to health. The emergence of climate change-related diseases and mental health problems is a major challenge for humanity.
