ABSTRACT
Man and the Absolute according to Plato and Aristotle
The dual nature of man, body and mind, soul, leads to his evaluation as a being that lies beyond the known living beings, that is, between the sensible and the supersensible aspects of the world. Through his consciousness, his particular characteristics are expressed, such as the freedom of his will, his tendency towards the good and especially towards the supreme good, which is the concept of the absolute.
Through his consciousness, man is aware of his life; at the same time, he cannot methodically attempt his ascent towards transcendent reality and approach the absolute through intellection, without, of course, being able to achieve it. This is because he himself is finite and relative.
